In the dead sniper’s past was a dark and vicious plot. Then suddenly it is more than a pattern it is a trail of blood. What was the identity behind the name and face: a would be assassin, or just another victim beneath an indifferent California sky? Intrigued by a request from the sniper’s father to conduct a ‘psychological autopsy’ of his child, Alex begins to uncover a strange pattern of innocence, neglect, and loss. While the TV news crews feasted on the scene an Alex began his therapy sessions with the traumatized children, he couldn’t escape the image of a slight teenager clutching an oversized rifle. Alex Delaware reached the school the damage was done: A sniper had opened fire on a crowded playground, but was gunned down before any children were hurt. Edgar Award winner Jonathan Kellerman once more explores the corruption of California’s golden coast and produces a novel of complex characterizations and nonstop suspense.

"This is the series that turned my reluctant readers into avid readers." - Frank Spinney, Lead Teacher for Stillwater Academy in Maine "Teens & fans of The Walking Dead will love ROT & RUIN: WARRIOR SMART" -Amy Taylor, Librarian at Lee's Summit West High School in Lee's Summit, Missouri. We meet Benny, Nix, Lilah, and Chong as they travel through the Sierra Nevada mountains just one faltering step ahead of zombie hordes and one giant leap behind the plane flying through the sky that set them on their journey of discovery. Brand-new adventures set in the world of Rot & Ruin! Written by New York Times best-selling author and multiple Bram Stoker award-winner, Jonathan Maberry, this all-new storyline continues events from the award-winning series of novels. There is only one character who doesn't just talk about peace but actively works toward it, and that's the Friar who lies and manipulates to achieve his goal. It's not romantic it's volatile, and there is no message of peace at the root of the film as Common Sense Media states in their review. Shakespeare mocks young love as being nothing more than blind lust and causing nothing but trouble. The film is an accurate depiction of two melodramatic kids who love the idea of love rather than truly loving each other (as is often stated by Friar Laurence). This film shows that, so expect the worst kind of behaviour. This is a book about reckless and thoughtless teens with too much time on their hands and too much money in their blood. The only reason Romeo is so depressed at the beginning of the play is because he can't get any from Rosaline, a girl he's been hounding but who has been unwilling to respond. He's absolutely filthy, and both Romeo and Benvolio get in on it whenever they're together and Romeo's not moping about. While exploring the text in class I tell my students to assume that everything that comes out of Mercutio's mouth is reminiscent of 50 Shades of Grey. The opening scene is a street brawl, two characters are later killed, and two more commit suicide. Don't watch this film and complain about the violence and sexuality: the original play is rife with both. Most of the reviews for this film leave me wondering how many people actually read the original play. The beauty of the muted tones and spareness of the illustrations allow readers to feel the small conflicts in the text. Whereas the embarrassing scenario could be repeated with the girls’ younger sister, Rubina convinces her mother to reconsider, and Sana is allowed to go solo. Expert pacing takes readers to the day when Sana is invited to her first party. It’s a long time before Rubina is invited to another one. When Rubina comes home with a birthday-party invitation, her mother asks why people celebrate birthdays, as her culture does not, and insists that Rubina take her little sister along despite the older child’s insistence that “they don’t do that here.” Sana is a brat par excellence at the party and steals Rubina’s candy.
